Not less than 2,000 members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Advanced Democratic Party, ADP, have decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Niger State.
The decampees were received on Wednesday by the former governor of the state and leader of the party, Muazu Babangida Aliyu during the PDP gubernatorial campaign flag-off in Bida, the headquarters of Bida local government area.
Alhaji Kudu Kasim led the defectors from the APC while ADP decampees were led by Alhaji Mohammed Yahaya who is popularly called “Designer”.
In his address while receiving the defectors, Aliyu said that Nigeria can now see the wide difference between APC and PDP within three years, adding that they can now make a better choice.
“Nigerians have seen the difference between the PDP and the ruling APC in the last three and the half years of the Buhari administration, and are now in a better position to make the right choice in 2019.
“Voting for APC in 2019 means voting for next level poverty,” Aliyu said.
The decampees also promised to ensure that the PDP emerges victorious in the forthcoming general election in the state.
