Former Kaduna Senator Shehu Sani, on Monday advised a one-time president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, not to allow himself to be deceived.
The outspoken Senator in a statement warned the former President to face the reality as he decides to make a decision.
“GEJ should not deceive himself nor allow himself to be deceived,” Sani wrote on his known Facebook page.
The warning is coming the face of rumours making the rounds that Jonathan would defect from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and run for president in 2023.
Jonathan, who was the candidate of the former ruling party in 2015, was defeated by President Muhammadu Buhari, who was the APC candidate.
There is this speculations that some powerful northern politicians within the ruling party were allegedly afraid to lose eight years to what Buhari’s successor might spend in office.
The speculations are rife that the forces felt that Jonathan, having been in office for four years, could be supported to spend a term in office to make it possible for another northerner to emerge President after completing b four years term.
