Salihu Lukman, Director General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) has declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is far better than the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), when it comes to the issue of internal democracy.
Acccording to him, the PDP leadership was living in self denial of the party’s current challenges, noting that the difference between the two Political is self-evident that it cannot be discussed.
“It is very easy to dismiss the APC as being the same with the PDP. In truth, however, the APC is radically different from the PDP.
“For instance, while the PDP leadership is still in denial that there are challenges facing the party requiring internal reform, the APC leadership since 2018 in fact, recognised the need for reform.
“It was the recognition for reform that led to the decision to change the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun leadership, which brought in Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s leadership.
“Unlike in the PDP, there was internal debate about whether to change Chief Oyegun’s leadership or not,” he said.
He noted that the expectation that was expected of the former Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole was not expected, thus, the NWC led by him had to be dissolved
