APC now a party to reckon with in Abia- New Chairman

Acho Obioma, a former member of the Federal lawmaker has reacted to his emergence as the newly elected chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State.

It will be recalled that the former House of Representatives member was announced the winner of the just concluded state congress of the All Progressive Congress (APC) after he polled 298 votes to emerge the state Chairman.

In his reaction, Obioma,  commended the delegates for voting him as chairman of the party during the recently concluded exercise.

He disclosed that he never campaigned to be chairman of the APC for one day, but he devoted all his time in canvassing for more people to join the party, so that the APC can gain strength and survive in Abia.

According to him, he will not disappoint the party, as he had been working closely with the outgoing state executive and he understands the political terrain.

He stated in his words, “I have worked tirelessly for the party to gain relevance and also to become the party to reckon with in Abia state. I have given my best in the past, and this time, I will do much more. I will never be found wanting.

“I’m not surprised with the support I have seen today from our party members. I am overwhelmed. My decision is to continue from where Hon Donatus Nwankpa stopped”.
