Edo PDP Chairman knocks Senator for voting against electronic transmission of election results

Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, has descended hard against All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator from the state, Francis Asekhame Alimikhena, for voting against electronic transmission of election results on the floor of the Senate.

Alimikhena, is representing Edo North Senatorial District in the Senate.

He accused the Senator  of brazenly supporting the abridgment of the democratic choice of Nigerians.

Speaking, Aziegbemi,  however, commended the two other Senators: Matthew Urhohide (Edo South) and Clifford Ordia (Edo Central), who are of the PDP, describing them as true lovers of democracy.

He said: “Senator Alimikhena’s behaviour is treacherous and exposed him as someone that is not only self-centred, but has completely lost touch with the people he is representing.

“Edo PDP condemns, in its entirety, the seemingly-obvious attempt by the APC and its puppet Senate to control and manipulate the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in their desperation to perpetuate the APC’s government and party in power beyond 2023 by every and any means possible. APC cannot foist the unpopular party on the electorate.

“The APC’s administration has ruined the economy of this nation and has failed abysmally to secure the lives and property of the citizens.

“Just like PDP in Edo State has consigned APC in Edo State to footnotes of a term paper, Nigerians must take a cue and consign APC to a squeezed piece of paper in a trash can.
