Security has been beefed up in strategic locations in Osogbo capital of Osun State ahead of the judgement by Osun Governorship Election Petition Tribunal billed for today.
Former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is challenging the victory of Ademola Adeleke during the 2022 Osun gubernatorial election on July 16th 2022, alleging infractions in 749 polling units and certificate forgery.
According to The Nation, heavy security presence in Osogbo capital of Osun as operatives of the police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps(NSCDC), Amotekun and other security operative were deployed to popular junctions and political offices.
Security operatives were sighted at Ola-Iya junction, Oke-Fia, Old-Garage, Lameko and many others. Also armed policemen were deployed to Oyetola and Adeleke’s campaign offices, including the secretariats of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and All Progressives Congress(APC).
There were heavy security presence in front of the court as patrol van numbering about six stationed at the entrance of the court as operatives check and screen people entering the court premises.
The sitting of the Tribunal has commenced at exactly 9:10 am for judgement.
