INEC is yet to tell us to relocate sensitive electorals – CBN

The apex bank, the  Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has disclosed that it is yet to receive any letter from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that it wants to relocate sensitive electoral materials from its custody..

Speaking in a press release, the CBN Director Corporate Communications Mr. Osita Nwanisobi in a phone conversation with said “INEC has not written to us about it.”

It will be recalled that in response to journalists, on the CBN Governor partisanship, INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said the commission had started talking on alternative places to store its sensitive materials apart from the CBN.

“I understand the context in which the question is asked. But you should also understand the context in which events are unfolding.”

It is no longer news that the CBN Governor, Goodwin Emefiele is nursing the ambition to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

He is part of the aspirants seeking to secure the APC presidential ticket.
