Just in: Abiru emerges winner in Lagos East Senatorial poll

Foremost banker turned politician, Tokunbo Abiru, has been declared winner of the Lagos East Senatorial by-Election.

Abiru is the  candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Saturday polls.

Announcing the results, the  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said that the APC polled a total of 89, 204 votes.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s  Babatunde Gbadamosi, secured 11, 257 votes.

The APC candidate cleared all all the five LGAs in the senatorial district.
