Lagos State Governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress Babajide Sanwo-Olu has won the governorship election.
It will be recalled that the politico.ng had projected on Thursday that the incumbent Govermor would emerge winner in the governorship poll. The media platform had said that the governorship election would be a different ball game compared to the presidential election.
Sanwo-Olu trounced his major opponents Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and Peoples Democratic Party’s Abdul-Azeez Adediran.
Collated results from the 20 local governments in the state, show Sanwo-Olu led with over 442,690 votes.
Sanwo-Olu polled a total of 739,526 votes ahead of Rhodes-Vivour who got a total of 296,832 votes.
Adediran popularly known as Jandor came distant third with 63,849 votes
