Tinubu Knocks gov Abiodun, says “I made you Ogun State Governor”

One of the main aspirants  for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has boasted that he made Dapo Abiodun Ogun State Governor in 2019.

He made this boastful remark the presidential lodge in Abeokuta, the state capital, while speaking to APC delegates ahead of the party’s primaries.

The former Lagos State Governor  was in company with Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his Kano State counterpart, Umar Ganduje and former Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima.

It will be recalled that the Ogun State Govermor had openly endorsed Osinbajo’s candidature. Osinbajo hails from Ikenne in Ikenne Local Government Area of the state.

Tinubu was not happy with Abiodun’s endorsement of Osinbajo.

Speaking ,Tinubu, who spoke in Yoruba, took a swipe at the governor.

He said, “It has been over 25 years now that I have been serving them. This one sitting behind me, Dapo, can he say he can be the Governor without me? We were together at the MKO Abiola stadium, he was intimated, they didn’t want to give him the party’s flag, I was the one that handed the flag to him. He knows that he cannot be the governor without the help of God and my support.

“If he wants to meet God at the right place, he must know that without God and me, he would not have become Governor.”

Tinubu also spoke on how he led the struggle that led to emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo in 2015.

In his remarks, Abiodun  refused to endorse Tinubu, saying that delegates from the state would do “the right thing” at the convention.

He described Tinubu as a political warrior, serial winner and strategist.
