Kenneth Okonkwo, a former spokesperson for the Labour Party (LP) presidential campaign council, has called for President Bola Tinubu, former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi to step aside in anticipation of the 2027 elections.
Okonkwo asserted that Tinubu, Obi, and Atiku are unfit to run in the upcoming election, emphasizing their failure to meet the needs of Nigerians.
In an interview on Arise TV, the Nollywood actor also criticized the opposition for their inability to unite and collaborate against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He stated, “I wholeheartedly agree that we need new faces, and that’s why I believe Atiku, Peter Obi, and Tinubu should step aside. The ruling party has failed, and so has the opposition. Did you know that there are more opposition members in the House of Representatives than those from the ruling party?
“I’m saying that after an election, the first thing you shouldn’t do is start discussing the next election. Instead, you should consolidate and form alliances among yourselves as the opposition.
“If all the opposition members in the House of Representatives had united, they could have elected their own speaker and vice speaker.”
