Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi has visited Borno and Yobe states as part of his nationwide tour to woo delegates in the coming All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention.
Fayemi, who paid courtesy call on Governor Babagana Zulum and Governor Mai Mala Buni, also met with the delegates of the two states.
While in the two states, Fayemi told the delegates: ” I do not come here with a sense of entitlement, not because I think the job belongs to me, but to ensure that I have at least presented myself humbly to our leaders and stakeholders to offer myself for service of this great nation.”
He also told the delegates that his pedigree as one of the founding fathers of the APC and other capacities he had served in the party equipped him as a better person to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari.
“I am a founding member of the APC. I know the nooks and crannies of the country. I served as the first chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), and I have served all of my colleagues well, now as the chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF). I have gained the trust and confidence of the entire governors.
“As the chairman of NGF, I work in ensuring that I protect, defend and promote diversity of Nigeria in all diversity. This job I am seeking is about improving the condition of ordinary Nigerians. It is an opportunity for me to build on the gains of President Buhari and also address the gaps that existed, because government is a continuous process. This job can never be finished, but our people must feel the difference in their lives. So I am confident that members of our party will vote for me”, he said.
