Goverrnor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has been accused of abandoning some All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the state, creating divisions among them.
They accused him of not yielding to appeals after several attempts at restoring peace.
Barrister Kolapo Alimi, a member of The Osun Progressives (TOP) in the Osun APC and a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the Rauf Aregbesola administration, made this remark during a radio current affairs programme monitored on Wednesday in Osogbo, the state capital.
According to him, Oyetola bought all ward congress forms for members of the Ileri Oluwa group, adding that he has proof that N26.8 million was paid via United Bank for Africa (UBA) for the forms.
He also revealed that TOP members bought their forms from the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.
He added that Oyetola had personally accused former governor, Aregbesola of sponsoring him to plot against the interest of his administration.
According to him, “The Adegboyega Oyetola administration is viewing his predecessor, Rauf Aregbesola as an opposition. The act alone justifies hypocrisy and labelling people as ingrates.”
He noted that Osun APC is suffering because of its decision during the 2018 election not to zone the governorship slot to Osun West Senatorial District during the last governoship election.
Speaking on the recently held Congress, Alimi explained that in Osun, the party decided to adopt a consensus approach in order for peace to reign.
He alleged that while the Ileri Oluwa group had a consensus congress, TOP had a real congress in their collation centres.
