I won’t leave PDP, only weak people run away from fight- Wike

Govermor Nyesom Wike of Rivers has said that he would  to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor Wike said this on  Thursday amid calls for him to dump the party over the lingering crisis that is rocking the party after the last presidential primaries.

Speaking during a meeting of PDP chieftains Ai the state at the Government House, Port Harcourt.

“We will do the fight in the party. We are not like them, when in 2014 they walked out from Eagle Square. They’ve forgotten. They walked out and joined APC.

According to him, those who run away from fight are weak people and that he would not do so, adding that the constitution of the party clearly states that elective and party offices must be zoned.

“You have taken the presidential candidate, you have taken party chairman, you have also taken the DG of the campaign. We are talking about party politics.”

“You can put pressure on the BoT chairman to resign when his tenure hasn’t come to an end. But you cannot put pressure on the chairman to resign”, he added.
