A former military Head of State, Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah, and other members of the National Peace Committee have had a meeting with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
It was reliably gathered that after endimg their meeting with the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, around 8 pm, they headed to the Presidential Villa where another meeting began with Osinbajo.
The meeting, it was learnt, is aimed at toning down the war of words between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the PDP following the announcement of the result of the Presidential election.
Recall that Atiku has rejected the result describing it as a sham, the APC, National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, has been lambasting Atiku, saying that he is a sore loser.
The peace committee, it was learnt, is asking both parties to abide by the accord they signed during the build-up to the elections.
