President Buhari not responsible for fuel scarcity- APC chieftain

A member of the Public Affairs Directorate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, Mariya Ibrahim Baba, has said that President Mohammadu Buhari is not responsible for fuel scarcity.

According to him, the situation of fuel in the country has improved with the coming on board of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.

The APC chieftain said this  on Friday while fielding questions on Arise Television’s Morning Show programme.

She denied her party, APC, said President Buhari is responsible for the fuel scarcity experienced across the country.

She said, ”The issue of petroleum shortage in Nigeria is not new. We had it a lot in the past; in fact, a worse situation. Things have improved. Last year we had a Christmas celebration, and every filling station was free; we had fuel, we moved around, and there was no problem. These hitches come from time to time, and if it, unfortunately, comes at a time when your enemies will use them against you, which is unfortunate. The petrol issue is not a deliberate thing by anybody; we did not say anything; we have taken it in good faith.

”This issue of petrol is not new in Nigeria; we have had serious issues in the past. It has improved with the coming on board of President Muhammad Buhari, and he is doing his best. A human being can never be 100 per cent, but at least he has scored 99 per cent.

“So our opponents are cooking stories and putting them around; they are not authentic at all. They are all false.”
