Supreme Court gives legal seal to Akeredolu’s victory- Fayemi

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has reacted to the Supreme Court judgement that gave victory to his Ondo State counterpart, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN).

Governor Fayemi in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, said the apex court in the land has legalized the popular choice made by the people of Ondo State at the October 10, 2020 election.

Fayemi called on Akeredolu to be magnanimous in victory and should always try to provide  better service delivery to the electorate who gave him a second mandate in office.

He commended  people of Ondo State for maintaining peace throughout the period the case lasted at the Election Petition Tribunal, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

He also lauded the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, for exercising their constitutional rights to the highest court in the land and not taking laws in their hands.

“This is a great news not only for my brother Governor Akeredolu and our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). It is victory for democracy. I congratulate Govermor Akeredolu and the people of Ondo State for the atmosphere of peace that reigned throughout the period of the judicial process.
