Africa Institutions Awards: A Call for Nominations

The founder of the Africa Institutions Awards, Mr. Lai Omotola, has called for nominations of distinguished individuals who have demonstrated the acts of promoting and sustaining institutions in Nigeria.

Speaking during a press briefing in Maryland, Lagos, on Wednesday, Omotola said that concerted efforts must always be made by the stakeholders to preserve the institutions due to the pivotal roles they play in the development of democracy.

According to him, the nominations are meant for deserving individuals working in the public sector, private sector, and heads of institutions.

The press statement reads: “In a democracy, institutions and the preservation of institutions are very vital and produce the dividends of democracy for the citizens. A strong institution will build a strong democracy, as opposed to strong men.

“Therefore, effort must be made to sustain what institutions represent in Africa. Such institutions are the judiciary, the police, the healthcare system, the legislature, and so on.

“Based on the above, we are calling for nominations for the Africa Institutions Award. individuals working in public institutions, private sector institutions, and heads of institutions in Nigeria or outside the country.

“Interested individuals should have shown the acts of promoting institutions cultures and ethics. Also, they should demonstrate different capacities and activities that sustain the institutions. Thirdly, they must be lovers of constituted institutions.

“Therefore, we are calling on the general public to submit nominations to aia@cflgrouponline.com.
