The Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Adelere Oriolowo on Sunday narrowly escaped being lynched or killed by suspected political miscreants.
It was gathered that the political thugs suddenly invades the venue where the Senator was having a constituency meeting in Osun State.
It was learnt that the Senator was at the the All Progressives Congress (APC) constituency meeting organised by Osun West party supporters at Ikire in the state.
While the meeting was going on peacefully, all of a sudden thugs wielding cutlasses and other weapons invaded the meeting to launch an attack.
Chaos later erupted as the thugs attempted to attack the Senator, but the security details of the Senator prevented them.
The thugs later attacked other party members after the Senator was whisked away by security personnel.
The senator, in his Facebook post, confirmed the attack: “Just escaped an Assassination attempt on my life and that of my entourage. To God be the glory, we are safe and alive. God is my helper, my shelter and my fortress, I fear no evil. – AAO
