I never accused presidency of fuelling the crisis against Ganduje- Kano APC spokesman

Publicity Secretary in Kano State, Ahmad Aruwa, has denied accusing the presidency of fuelling the crisis against the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

The APC state spokesman, who was quoted in a video clip that went viral, on social media, pointing accusing fingers at some elements in the presidency igniting the confusion that led to the purported suspension of Ganduje, insisted on Friday that he was quoted out of context.

He said he has firm loyalty to the President Bola Ahmed-led Federal Government which accounted for the overwhelming support the president received in Kano during the last general election.

Aruwa made the clarification while reacting to media reports that quoted him accusing the presidency of sabotaging Dr. Ganduje on his purported suspension of his membership.

He maintained that those trying to reconstruct his comment on the persecution of Ganduje were the enemies of the party who had invested resources to destroy the mutual relationship between the president and the former governor of Kano.

He said: “I have no intention to and will not constitute any act that will damage the loyalty and mutual respect that exists between the National Chairman of the party, Dr Ganduje and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Dr. Ganduje remains the only strong pillar and dependable defender who can guarantee the future political success of President Tinubu’s political success in Kano.

“We have high respect for our president and leader of our party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and he remains our choice of leader in Kano.

“We have demonstrated our commitment to the political ambition of President Tinubu in the last general election and we are ready to do more in subsequent elections.

“We equally want to declare that our leader and national Chairman of our great party Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje is committed and remains loyal to the president regardless of whatever anybody may want to orchestrate. No amount of plot will divide the mutual relationship between the president and Ganduje.”

Meanwhile, a coalition of 45 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) under the auspices of Justice for All (JA) has given the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) a 72-hour ultimatum to commence an investigation into the eight-year tenure of the National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The group said it has discovered that the immediate past government in Kano State led by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje failed to investigate the Kwankwaso government, while the current government also have no plans to do so.

In a petition to the anti-graft body signed by Auwalu Ibrahim and Dr. Dave Ogbole as Chairman and Co-Chairman respectively, the group said the investigation has become necessary to ensure that the resources of the state are recovered in the interest of the people
